in the telling of the story
before Christ departed
before he ascended
back to his throne,
Christ spoke to them
to all who would follow
Christ spoke to us
to go into the world
the authority to teach others
to share our own witness
God’s revelation in our own lives
the authority to follow,
to go where he leads us
the Spirit leading still
deep within, guiding
to share with others
the hope for our future
the love of our God
