Christ spoke love
for God is love
choosing to submit
to follow the will of God
Letting the betrayer go
setting the day in motion
knowing what was to come
submissive to God’s plan
Christ was fully human
he knows human pain
yet God went to the cross
in the flesh of mortal man
Only in dying, descending to the dead
God’s love made perfect
only in slaying the unblemished lamb
could we rise with Christ, redeemed
This is the love we are called to
to submit our lives to God
giving to our neighbors
that they may have life with Him
This is what Christ means
to love as he loved us
walking holy, as a prophet,
sharing the light of God
