Christ Lives

The empty tomb, victory
the Messiah true to his words
that which was torn down
rebuilt in three days
His body brutalized
buried in the earth
His spirit in Sheol
reaching tortured souls
Christ lives now
by his power, God’s love
sent from heaven
the One touched by the dove
Ascended to heaven
at the right hand of God
living within us
the Spirit down below
