Christ trusted in what God was doing

Christ could have been the warrior-king
he could have vanquished Rome
cast out the false teachers from the Temple
made Israel his throne
He could have legions of angels
casting off their shackles, the chains
but Christ was emptied for a purpose
for this hour He came
Christ trusted in what God was doing
submissive to the cross
giving his life freely, a sacrifice
to redeem us from the lost
