Never a king like this
the King of kings before us
yet entering the city humbly
humble, on a donkey
Submissive to the master
to God in heaven above
Not seeking earthly glory
treasure in this world
Never a king like this
who chose the rugged cross
dying for His people
to redeem us from the lost
No king in history
no king like our Jesus
emptying himself
becoming a slave
teaching them to be humble
though he was fully God
No king in history
no king like Jesus
taking the servant’s path
suffering, humiliation
bending to the master’s will
taking the cross for us
giving his life to them
that they may live
Our king wondrous
different than all other kings
led by his deep love for us
forgiving us of our sin
Paying the price for us
suffering in our name
going to the cross to die
bearing our awful shame
This king submissive
showing us how to love
giving all he had
holding nothing back
Giving his life freely
emptied of all power
become clay, the lamb
giving his life to God
No other king like Christ
the King of Hope
giving us new life
a chance for redemption
a pathway to God
the gate of the cross
his sacrifice for all
Our King of joy
of life everlasting
raising us from death
giving us a chance to live
to walk with our Master
our Creator in paradise
to walk again in the garden
in the coolness of the night
Our love unbounded
freed from the world
comfort in our walk in this life
peace within the storm
Our God, our King
the King of Peace alive
risen from this mortal plane
waiting for us in paradise
