we were part of that crowd
We were there on Sunday
waving our palms
our cloaks on the ground
as Christ entered in
We were there on Thursday
in the garden
in the mists of time
the cup to his lips
We were there on Friday
in the temple courts
we were there
when they bound our Lord
We were there that morning
in that maddening crowd
shouting to crucify
to kill our Lord
We were there that afternoon
at the foot of the cross
hearing the jeers
the shouts unto his death
