Faithful to God’s call
through the pain, the knowledge
knowing full well what would come
walking the journey with him
hearing the cries of Jesus
his bitter knowledge poison
a foretaste of the bitterness
the anguish of the cross
yet going to the cross despite struggle
the humanness of Jesus
the purity of his walk
choosing to be the servant
