Faithful, yet unfaithful – v3

Feeling torn, ever,
not settling in one place
waxing and waning, moving,
unable to choose my path
feeling that one is in conflict
with the other, the last;
Not seeing how to do both
to walk in both ways, two paths,
needing somehow to choose
to make my own way.

Faithful, yet unfaithful,
in failing to choose
to walk in one path
with nothing to lose;
How can I preach
How can I share God’s Word
if I am too timid
to go forth as He calls me
to walk boldly on the water,
to go into the world.

A Stranger within the Gate

A Calling to Write

Not oblique,
something unclear
not with words grandiose
a calling to write clear and terse

Poetry, beauty
in the straightforward
message from God
the words I hear in my heart

Called to share freely from him
to the ends of the earth
Comfort, hope, one truth revealed,
the love of Christ complete.

By his grace alone
we are made whole
our eternal lives restored.
