Coming home, to the
synagogue,
His hometown, as a prophet;
Rising to speak, confident
Mary’s son, Jesus.
Sharing a lesson,
Wisdom imparting,
from the heart of God.
Impressed by His teaching
amazing to them, His
neighbors,
from one of their own;
But that was a problem
this was Jesus, not nearly
Elijah.
This was Mary’s son, one of
them,
from their village, their
hometown.
