we are the stones of the temple – v4

we are not separate islands
individual stones standing independent;
we are the stones of the temple
living stones of this earth
that God gathered together

we are the living stones
our lives from the dust, gathered,
molded by God’s loving hands;
we are the ones gathered, picked up,
joined together in this sacred time

we live, have life, within the circle,
this hour of prayer, this calling,
to love, to care for one another
joined with the cornerstone of Christ;
we are the stones of the temple
making a living home for God
