Christ unrolling the scripture
choosing specific words of Isaiah
reading them in the synagogue
where he worshiped his whole life
Claiming the words of the coming
the Messiah come to save
his purpose in this life
his walk upon the earth
Aware of the radical words
many unable to hear the truth
a stranger in his hometown
going, to wander the earth
Hope for all people
for this he came down
lifting the bonds of oppression
showing a better way
Spreading God’s message
healing in his name
going as he was sent
doing his master’s work
