Fellow Children

He didn’t understand
the lesson we are to take
that the ones that we step over
are included in the flock

God’s command to love our neighbor
extends to all in need
they are fellow children of God
who each have a sacred name

The story telling
in that the beggar has a name
the same name as the friend of Christ
who died and rose again
