Giving Up So Soon
So slow to believe
though they walked with Christ
timid disciples
only seeing the cross
Not comprehending His words
heading for home on the third day
not waiting for God’s time
sadness and doubt and fear
Giving up so soon
not able to believe
the words that Jesus had spoken to them
that he would rise and conquer death
So like them are we
so quick to give up
unable to believe in the majesty of God
his power to lift us up
to pour our his grace upon us
to fill our empty cup
