Helping Lazarus

Maybe we cannot help everyone
limited as we may be
but we can help our brother Lazarus
the one close to us

The brother we overlook
the one in the shadows
named and known to God
a precious child, a member of the family

Like us worthy because of God’s grace
not by something we have done
living out a life simply, as a servant,
until the battle is won
