defeated by life

we cry for those among us
those we love
our brothers, our sisters
those defeated by life
walking close among us
with us on this journey
weeping with them, with Christ
hoping we are worthy
sharing his love with them
our lives richer, meaning
wanting to share with them
the love of our Savior
walking beside, within us
richly showing compassion
in our walk of faith
