The climax of this season
of the Season of Lent
to slow our steps, with purpose
to live out his steps
Living out Christ’s Passion
going to the cross, to the grave
feeling him with us
to the end of the age
Focused on his steps
each step in the life of the Christ
each moment, each step
drawing closer, nearer
to the cup, to the rugged cross
Living out Christ’s Passion
following the Christ,
breathing with him,
walking with Him, the disciples
their dust still on our feet
Focused on the breathing
the living of this out, real-time,
drawing to Him, closer
to the Lamb of God
his yoke upon us, our burden
Living out Christ’s Passion
following his every step
walk with Him, as disciples
his steps guiding our feet
Yet this not the end
not ending with the Cross
his life not over
nor is our life in Him
