water and darkness

before the beginning

looking down

the Creator seeing

water and darkness

the inky void

the waters swirling

chaos, the deep

the Spirit moving

over the waves unending

the utter nothingness

the waters divided

at the beginning, creation

before the first day

the coming of light

God touching the waters

setting their place

speaking light

the creation begun

the waters tamed

the darkness given bounds
