a
line thrown to catch
her
breakfast, a snack,
if
they came her way
not
caring the kind or color
casting
her net widely
a
line to gather her prey
a
trap of the angler
for
the unsuspecting, the careless,
those
not paying attention;
a
single clear line of thread
strung
by the fisherman
between
flower and shrub,
a
road for her to travel upon
a
line cast for errant prey
caught
in the sunlight
this
Sunday morning
after
the dew had gone to gas
out
of the shadows
in
the church courtyard
