on the surface of their
eye
a smudge, a smear, a
nothing
hardly worth mentioning
inconsequential to their
vision
to their walk in this life;
but a log, a tree, a limb
a plank protruding
blocking our vision, our
sight
why are we focused on our
neighbors
when we ourselves are
blind.
