to stand, to be light
the salt of the earth
but given God’s might
Able to cut through the darkness
to bear the Christ
offering hope to the nations
the end to the night
To side with the people
to aid the oppressed
to cheer for their freedom
that the chains have been cast off
Even at this moment
the beginning of this transition
needing to be prayerful
lifting up our neighbors
That this moment would be a beginning
hope for even more people
all those who suffer
under the weight of the tyrants
All of us able, called
to raise our voice with them
that we would side with the people
that they all would be free
