The Urgency of Revolution

The world, the tyrants
the lies to the people
the opiate of the masses
the yoke of oppression
false gods, earthen idols
leading us to hell

The urgency of revolution
viral, real-time
so should our sharing be
of the light of the Christ
to all people, all nations
to the ends of the earth

Life or death
that is the choice we make
conforming our lives to God
or walking alone to death
believing in something that dies
that turns back to dust

We are to be salt
to be the salt of the earth
humbly serving in our time and place
yet being the light to the world
to shine into the darkness
shattering the yoke, the chains
setting the prisoners free
