Like the Spirit moving
over the void, chaos, in the beginning
over the troubled waters
our lives, our journey
a breath, fleeting
Yet walking as on stepping stones
where some of them are hidden
under the sands of time
the swirling waters, chaos, the world
the journey known only to God
Our steps like whispers
puffs over rice paper
the breath of the living God
leaving faint images, mere impressions
hard to perceive, to comprehend
Or perhaps more boldly, vivid
marks etched on the path
engraved into living metal
journeying forward together
when we are following our God.
