an image, her face smiling
flashing into my mind
wondering if others saw her too
as he spoke her familiar name
a member of the flock
gone temporarily from our midst
his words of care, concern
bringing her face to my eye
joining with the pastor’s prayer
especially for those I know and love
humbly praying for my friends
