with Mary and Joseph

in a sense, waiting, journeying
these weeks of Advent
traveling with Mary
with Joseph, on the road to Bethlehem
walking, waiting
traveling by his one true star
going to David’s home
though we travel far
through the story of our faith
back to where it began
a little babe in a manger bed
their son, the king,
the great I Am.
