Like a ballet
turned upward
spinning, round and round
our form taking shape
upon the potter’s wheel
while in the womb,
our lives before us
from the stuff of dust
the clay comes to life
our breath, from God
taken, drawn inward
his breath giving us life
until we return to the earth

Genesis 1:1-2:4a
Genesis 2:4b-25
the tension between the two traditions
giving us two creation stories
