The story of Naaman
of healing that almost wasn’t
so busy in his mind
how he thought it should be
nearly missing God’s grace
Healed because he stopped
listened to his servants
following the word of the prophet
doing what he had been asked
healed in Jordan’s waters
Life not always
as we have planned it
thinking of slights, anger
distracting us from his blessing
missing the grace of God
Needing, like Naaman,
to be faithful, obedient
focused on our savior,
his healing coming,
not following the world
