The
sounds caught
as
if in a spider’s web
the
world encased
as
if in amber
within
the lowered clouds
all
sounds within their grasp
Muffled
this morning
the
world slow awakening
pulled
from our cocoon
our
hibernation
the
mist of the morning
silencing
the dawn
The
world awaking
through
a curtain, emerging,
as
if through cotton batting
the
air pregnant, thinking,
muffled
this morning
so
slow to awake
