Hope in this Season

Hope in this season
the days number, counted down
leading to the star, to the angels
the shepherds, his holy birth
All of them richly
the imagery washing over us
drenching us with the coming
the birth of the Son

Hope in this season
the meaning of love
God’s grace revealed
in him sending his Son
The hope for the ages
for all of mankind
leading us to heaven
in his rising into the light
