We need these days

The days of Advent
at the beginning of the year
the story of the Christ-child
of God coming near

We need these days
to enter the spirit
the meaning of Christmas
more than we can comprehend

Needing these days
slowing our thinking
drinking in the waters
pouring down on us

Coming to know
to see the Christ-child
as the ultimate gift
God’s love for us all
