On the Clouds

Not just in the manger
the image of Christ
Not just on the cross
descending to the dead
Not even just on Easter
rising from the grave
Not in his ascension
rising to the skies

On the clouds
in victory
the triumphant God
redeemed all his people
ready to call them home
coming to gather in
the living and the dead
The God of the living
from beginning to the end
