Causing us to focus
to remember the Christ-child
leading us into worship
the liturgical year
The panic of advent
not about gifts or pageants
but a changing of our lives
focused on this child
All of our days
measured by our service
if we truly follow
the calling from within
The Christ-child living
in the Spirit indwelling
calling us ever
to conform to the his ways
The panic of advent
like the maidens needing oil
that we are totally unprepared
for the coming of our King
That the bridegroom could come
at an unknown hour
calling us to account
for all of our days
Are we ready
the question each advent
are we waiting
with hope in our hearts
Or are we like the leaders
who denied the Christ-child
who tortured and murdered
the King that had been foretold
