With Herod, the elite,
all of Jerusalem troubled
by the coming of the Magi
looking for the Messiah
The coming of strangers
seeking the Christ-child
wanting for find the baby
the son of David
All of Jerusalem troubled
not wanting to believe
that the time of Your coming
was there in their time
Not ready to give up power
to God’s appointed King
holding onto their power
unwilling to believe
