Would We Have Run to Jesus

From the hillside
to His manger bed
from the fields
to the stable

Would we have run to Jesus
when we heard the angel’s song
to be with our Savior
all of our mortal lives

Would we have gone to the stable
to see the blessed Child
the Messiah alive, with us
on that first Christmas night
