God’s Glory Lit the Sky

Never was there
a night like that night
we were in the fields
as we always were
watching the sheep by night
vigilant, awake for danger
never expecting
to see a crowd of angels

God’s glory lit the sky
never was there such singing
terrifying us, for shock of the light
these messengers of God
coming before us
Telling us not to fear
the Messiah was born that night
in the City of David
in Bethlehem town
God’s love was with us
His love come down
