The shepherds on the hillside
coming before Jesus
led by the angels’ call
shocking, in the night
And they brought their lives
because they have no other gifts
bowing at the manger
to see God with us
Humble coming
yet going in joy, triumphant,
sharing the message of his coming
to the whole world
