the story we all know
only because of the divine messenger
was the story to unfold
Joseph was ready
prepared to send her away in secret
to avoid her public humiliation
her stoning by the people
Only when the messenger
the angels spoke to him
only then was the story changed
Joseph being faithful
Taking on the responsibility
for his pregnant bride
her unborn child his responsibility too
even naming him Jesus
for he was to heal us
and bring us to the creator
