In those gathered round

Seeing our brothers, our sisters
friend of long-standing
in those gathered round
gathered round the manger
Looking at the Christ
Emmanuel, God-with-us
humble in His coming
coming down from heaven

Do we see the differences
the things that divide us
Do we see the same wonder
in the face of each strangers
Gazing at our King
our master, the Alpha and Omega
coming into our midst
as a vulnerable infant
