From before Christ’s time
maybe back to Cain and Abel
wanting to have
maybe even the garden
the fall itself
about possessions
Material wealth
one of the false gods
causing us to fight
to focus on selfishness
Leading us away
from the source of strength
the one true God
the king of all there is
Causing us to sin
focused on ourselves
to step on our neighbor
Losing God, grace
in our quest for wealth
our treasure here only
on this lowly earth
