The host, a servant
the king, our sacrifice
shedding his blood
his life for all of us
Marking our hearts
the doorposts of our lives
the blood of the sacrifice
the lamb upon the cross
Washing our feet
pouring out his life
going to the cross for us
even though we sin
Running from him
afraid to claim his name
betraying him in our selfishness
denying his place in our lives
when he offered his all
Mindful, in this season
of what all this truly means
remembering the path he walked
that we may be worthy of his name
