Glimpses of fire
fleetingly in the sky
turning to smoke
right before my eyes
Stopping to wonder
to watch the changing sky
brilliant colors of the dawn
yellow, white, luminous, alive
caught in the mirror of the clouds
Dulling to gray, blue, purples
softer pastels of darker hues
a different palette all together
in a matter of moments
lost in sameness
a washed tableau
fading from view

A beautiful description of the sunrise! It is hard to capture this changing scene in words, but you certainly have done so.
Thank you for commenting on my recent post in which I included one of your poems about the garden. I found it on a website famouspoemsandpoets.com where many of your poems are included. I've read many of your poems there and enjoyed them, but I wasn't aware of this blog. I've often used this site to find appropriate poems for the season, including works by Wordsworth, Dickinson, and some more contemporary poets, but this is the first time I have included one of yours. I hope that I did not infringe upon any copyright issues; please let me know if I have, because that wasn't my intention. In the future, I could use a link to your blog instead.
