The bill, our cost
the price of our sin
never coming to our table
Christ paid it all himself
because we were unable
The sin from the beginning
coming into us before we were born
in sin coming into the world
only Christ could wipe it away
removing the breach, the fall from grace
The wrong that we do,
in spite of the law
more than we can comprehend
the justice of the Lord
by grace alone restored
The sacrifice, given for us
the blood of the lamb
poured out on the altar of the cross
the offering for our sin
in the bread and the wine
Remembering that night
the Passover becoming
the new covenant
the savior and we, his disciples,
sharing in his body, his blood
This was a choice
even though we betray,
denying him and running away
Christ still went to the cross
to free us from our sin

I found your poetry blog via Vine and Fig. I've been poking around the net looking at Christian poetry blogs. I'm rather surprised at just how many there are. I was going to ask what got you started writing poetry so late in life. I have only recently started myself (age 37).
By the way, my blog is at http://nothinghypothetical.wordpress.com/
