The blood of the lamb
on the lintels, the doorposts
the gates of our hearts
washing us clean
Remembering the sacrifice
the meal, the breaking of the bread
the pouring of the wine
the price upon his head
Our hands, our hearts breaking
in thinking about the price he paid
my hands upon the sacrificial lamb
my sin upon him laid
That Christ would die for me
taking on my sin, my shame
by his blood I am made clean
because on the cross he died for me
Paint the doorposts
the frames of my heart
forever will I remember this
by God’s great love I am blessed
what wonder, what treasure, what bliss
