She invoked his story, his
memory,
his ministry of the pans
humble, a servant, giving
washing the pots, the pans
of the monastery, faithful
humble service, noble
servant
doing what he could
being the servant to the
servants
doing all he did, for the
love of God,
whatever the chore, the task
mindful of God in service
Living his love of God, out
loud
by his simple acts, devotion
present with God, in these
works
So it is with others, on my
path,
my journey in this life,
seeing them
working in the kitchen, in
the shadows
behind the scenes a bit,
maybe
the crew we rely on, who we
trust
to do those manual tasks,
simply,
to go and do the works
trying to do this work, in
our time
as Brother Lawrence did
in the living presence of
God
humbly serving only
washing the pots, dishes
the ministry of the pans
simply doing what we can
