Cursing the gray

Wanting black or white
clarity in the journey
not a range of options
to make the wrong choice

Cursing the gray
the difficult, decisions
fearing I will get it wrong
flailing in the dark

Truth in the middle
not the black or white
the struggles, the choices
our walk this life

The fact is the gray
the waxing and waning of the light
darker or brighter
in the day and the night

But God to protect us
to guide us in our walk
there in the darkness
the same as the light

He knows the path
for Christ is the way
following where he leads
through the gate of the cross
