The message of the cross

Confusing to the lost
a foreign language
a different tongue
the power of God
his truth, his light
love washing over us
all opaque to those who deny
who refuse to believe the message
the message of the cross
of sacrifice, to be a servant
giving one’s life for another
all of this upside down
the world’s point of view
God’s way holy, his law divine
teaching us another path
another way to life
