When Christ breathed his prayer

There with Christ on Calvary
hanging on the tree
one of the thieves beside him
on our own cross, judgment

When Christ breathed his prayer
lifted to almighty God,
in the darkness of this hour
thinking of all of us

The gravity shaking me
the weight of his words
knowing I was guilty
but he was the sacrifice

The effort of the words
the pain we each felt
yet I had to call out
because of the words he spoke

Forgive me Lord Jesus
I now too believe
if I wasn’t on this cross
I would fall to my knees

Add me to your prayer
have mercy on me
I want to live with you
for all eternity

His response amazing
looking right through me
Today I tell you
you will be in paradise

The weight lifted from me
the judgment no more
in a few hours
at home in my Lord
