justice meted out
hanging on our cross
that hill, Calvary
On our cross next to Christ
like the two thieves
guilty of our sin
failing to believe
Dying in righteousness
to pay our awful cost
but Christ there beside us
offering us life
Like the two thieves
a choice to make
one cursing, mocking the king
the other praying
that he would live
Neither deserving
anything from Christ
yet one to damnation
the other to paradise
We too on this journey, our walk
on a cross next to Christ
in the balance of life
will we accept his offer
will we turn from our sin
will we remain with the other
or will we live in him
