On a Cross next to Christ

The two thieves
proxies for all of us
dying to pay their price
one cursing, mocking the king
the other praying
that he would live
neither deserving
anything from Christ
yet one to damnation
the other to paradise with him
Our journey, our walk
on a cross next to Christ
will we accept his offer
will we turn from our sin
leaving the world
the torment, the struggle
will we raise with him
or will we remain with the other
