go to your quiet place
shut the door behind you
leaving not a trace
go to the Lord in silence
away from the world
humbly kneeling before the Savior
for his holy word
asking in his holy name
the desires deep within
Trusting God with our lives
our hopes, our dreams, our anguish
coming to him in reverence
knowing how far we are
how high he is above us
yet that not even enough
for he is higher still
shutting the world off behind us
turning deep within
listening to the Spirit’s calling
how we want to live
