Each of us a vessel
God’s love to reveal
filled with his grace, his blessing
pouring out his love
each with a part to play
yet all of us together
none more important
that another can serve in our place
The flaw in their actions
of the priest and the Levite
thinking too much of their service
to stop and lend a hand
remembering too literally
the decrees on cleanliness
feeling perhaps too important
to give up their holy work
Better to stop,
to answer the Spirit’s call
to offer roadside assistance
not our plan for the day
another can pick up our slack
all part of God’s plan
building up the body best
when all join in the work
doing all we can
